Tel Dan

Yesterday, Wednesday morning, we headed up north to Tel Dan.
It's an archielogical site in the north part of the country, in the land that was originally given to the tribe of Dan. There we were able to study up on 1 Kings 12. We learned about the altar Jeroboam made. After the kingdom of the 12 tribes split and Jeroboam became king of the northern tribes, Israel. We were able to study right next to the scaled dimension model of the original altar made. We learned about how Jeroboam tried making a copy of the things of the Lord and bring the nation into a comprimising state. A good reminder of how we need to consistently stay on our gaurd, and be a discerner with His word and Truth. It was also a blessing to see, in the middle picture, a passage way to the city Layesh. That's where Abraham would have had to stop and pick up supplies on his travels of promise from Mesopotamia to Cannan. We were able to continue in His word and at the same time enjoy His beautiful creation. It was an awesome walk through nature, hearing the trees clap His praises and listening to the beautiful sound of running waters, it was beautiful.
