So last Friday we were able to head out after the bible study, and of coarse after the Wii Fellowship, to Shikjang Mountain. It’s kind of like a Skyline(view spot on a mountain in Corona, CA) of Daejeon, South Korea. It was a lot fun being able to drive semi off-road up the mountain and then being able to see the closest things to stars here in the city. Usually because of the smog we can’t really see the stars but this made up for it…kind of=]. We had a blast taking pictures grubbing on some Korean Oden and then enjoying even more food at our house for a curry dinner. Thanks Hye-Young that was goood mmmmm, and thanks Kalven for the trip God bless you buddy.

Sunday Morning Korean Church

100_3831 100_3834

Sunday morning was a special morning, we were able to attend our first Korean only church service. Peter, one of our brothers that we get to hang out with a lot, serves as a worship leader at his father’s church here in Daejeon. At last minute we ended up making plans to go and attend the service but also lead in two worship songs. It was a blessed time being with the body, seeing them dance to Every Move I make, enjoying food fellowship afterwards, and then playing games there with their youth. Definitely a fun time, thanks again Peter for the invite, God bless you bro.

While Mike has been gone, we’ve had to take care of the studies he usually teaches. Daniel has been rocking in them all week. He’s been able to encourage us: at the Jinsoo Institutes about truly worshiping Him knowing we can do in spirit and in truth wherever we go, at the Saturday Breakfast Bible  Study showing us how much our God loves us and how we must can’t love Him and the world but one or the other, and also at the Sunday Evening Bible Study encouraging us through his testimony to make that choice and go all out for God letting nothing get in the way of His glory. Daniel has been on a rampage, keep up His good work brada.

Festival at Tanguk

Wendseday was the Festival at Tanguk University in Cheoneon. Finding out about it last week we were trying to put together an outreach to have during the festival, but the Lord closed the doors. The beautiful part was that through it, it stirred up vision in the pastor and now we are planning and setting up to have a concert outreach at the campus on June 10. We were really excited and are eager to see what else the Lord is going to do there next,  please join us in lifting up the outreach and the lives He is going to draw near in prayer. Now even though the outreach didn’t work out this week we continued as normal, but instead of going out before the study and touring the city, we were able to walk around the festival with some of the students. Daniel got to play a booth game and almost actually won. He had to break 15 plastic plates in half with one shot,  but came up a few short of winning. After the bible study we played UNO and had a blessed time in fellowship. The time there at the bible study continues to go great, and with the study coming up were excited to see His children continuing to grow and now take steps of faith in working for His glory. Praise Him.

Seafood

So after the festival we ventured around the island trying to find somewhere to eat. We were looking around trying to find the right restaurant then bam at the end of some road we thought would just be a dead end there was a beachfront restaurant with a great view. Now the picture there of the beach isn’t at restaurant, but was at the Festival. Still it was a  nice beach. We had fun being able to munch on a seafood and cook it ourselves. Well the Daniels cooked it, I just enjoyed the food, but after a couple of burns and close eye splatter encounters we all ate and were filled with good food and great fellowship.

Yesterday we went on a little road trip and   headed North. We went on our first island trip here in  South Korea, to Anmyan Do(Anmyan Island). They were there hosting a two month long Flower Festival to ring in the spring season. They had flowers all around, big exhibits talking about flowers, flower shops, flowers, flowers, and flowers. Still even, though it was only a three guy trip(Daniel Kim, Daniel Sedota, and me),  we still had a lot of fun taking pictures and enjoying the scenery, and of coarse enjoying the coast.

Pastor Mike, his wife Hye-Young, and their daughter Jeena are leaving tomorrow, Monday the 17th. They’ll be gone for about 12  days visiting friends and family back in the states. Hopefully while there, they’ll get a lot of rest and fill up on Mexican food before they return. Please pray for them and for us, as it’s a step of faith for them leave and a step for us to make sure everything is taken care of while there gone, either way the Lord is in charge=]. Have fun guys, God bless you! Have fun at Living Water Wednesday night.”Jeena, what are you doing.”

Japanese restaurant

100_3689 100_3690

Right next to the church, a new Japanese food restaurant just opened up. So we ended up having a boys grub night out. Actual Japanese food is almost as rare to find out here as Mexican food…okay maybe not that bad but pretty close. This restaurant was actually really good for it’s price, but the best part was just being able to get to know some of the guys better. One word of advice though, even if you really miss wasabi, soy sauce, and mizo…don’t mix a lot together and chub it down=/.

This weeks adventures with Pastor John, was cancelled. Well not quiet, we still got to go on an adventure but Pastor John stayed back this time. We ended up going to an art gallery exhibition. It ended up being Joseph, a brother whom we met earlier at one of the neighboring universities, there in Cheoneon. We had such a great time. It was sweet being able to tour the art show with the artist himself, seeing into what was molded for what reason. Every canoe you see is made of clay and represents Joseph’s life; circumstances, events, emotions, etc. Definitely a blessed time seeing the beautiful gift of art God has given him, and encouraging him to keep using it for God’s glory. God bless you Joseph keep rocking bro!

Taco Bell

Monday we were able to go up to the Osan US Air Force Base. Cob, one of the guys from Calvary Chapel Cheoneon, used to be in the army and still has base access today. He was able to sign us on and take us to TACO BELL. Being away from the states, sometimes you can’t help but crave the Mexican food. MMMMMMMM…even the Mexican American fast food, so grubbing down at Taco Bell definitely hit the spot. It was really cool being in a military base again, and it was a big reminder of how many American’s are actually stationed here. Cob has been praying and trying to make preparations for a bible study there on the base, and prayerfully everything will come together soon. Lord bless you and open doors of ministry tremendously for you bro, thanks again Cob, God bless you.

Expo Park-South Korea

Today we were able to have the Saturday Afternoon off and free. So Mike and Hye-Young took us to the Expo Park here in South Korea...no it's not an aquarium. It's a Learning/Science Exposition, with a lot of fun things for kids to play on. We can't let the kids have all the fun so we got to join in too=]. We rode little go carts, rode a quadricycle around the park, watched some Tae-Kwon Doe board braking show, and messed around on the playgoround. We all had a lot of fun. It was sweet being able to finally getting to go in, seeing how we pass by it constantly on the road. We can now officially say we've gone.

Growing

Saturday mornings we have a foundations study led by Danny and Pastor Mike's wife Hye-Young. It's so great to continue to see the studies grow more and more. Before the study we all get to feast on an American style breakfast, mmmmm soooo good...eggs, cereal, granola and yogurt, Quaker's oatmeal, ramyen soups, and all sorts of good juices. We continue to grow waist wise but even greater it's awesome to see His children grow spiritually wise. The groups continue to learn more of the wonderful living God we serve, and continue to realize the great plans God has called them in their lives. It really has been amazing. Praise God for His faithfulness=].

HE'S BACK

Well the bull arrived, safe and sound. It seemed like He had a good flight and a blessed bus ride back. Daniel is refreshed and ready to pick up where he left off. After a welcome home feast with the landlady and her sweet restaurant, the city decided to celebrate Danny's return with fireworks in his honor. Noooo...just kiddin...the four day flower festival is going on right now, and we were able to view the fireworks from our roof top. It was pretty sweet and hopefully...I think well be going to the festival soon too. Danny glad to have you back bro! Welcome back bUddy!

Buridogg

Since Daniel has been away, I've been able to sub in for him with some of the kids he gets to help out with on Thursday night. The kids were really funny and had me laughing most of the time, but tonight they also had some more friends over. In Japan we played rock paper scissors with a cheek pinching twist. I won't spell it right, but it's called buridog. The whole game is playing rock paper scissors, but as a penalty for the loser, they have to have one of their cheeks pinched. After two penalties...so two loses, both cheeks are being squeezed, the winner pinches them harder, rubs them around, then as hard as they can clips their fingers off the losers cheeks leaving them red and burning. Well and as you can see from the pictures, the kids really enjoyed and had a great time.
