First Shabbat

For those of you who don't know, here in Israel they have a weekly day of Shabbat. Now Shabbat is the sabbath day, the day that God commanded in the Old Testament to keep holy. So what happens every Shabbat here, is pretty much everything closes down. The way Jewish Calendars are considered, are from sunset to sunset, not midnight to midnight. So starting sunset Friday night, Shabbat started. That night, Nick and I kicked off Shabbat by going to the Western Wall and seeing the celebration happen first hand. Being there we got to hang out a litte, ended up being invited over to one of the Jew's house, and had our first official Shabbat dinner in Isreal. Then on Saturday we started off the day going to a few Shabbat believer services, they were really cool (one of the churches the pastor's cousin by marriage was Raul Ruiz, and it was cool to hear that Pastor Chuck came and taught at that church as well). We continued the day just resting in Him, enjoying the services He took us too. We ended off the night at the city famous shwarma shop, and watched a movie with some of the other brothers and sisters we have been able to meet here. He continues to open up doors with the body He has here, continue to pray for us please in what else He has in store.
