Here we are, this is Ceaseria Phillipi. This is the famous place where Jesus said (Mt 16:18) And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Now there is definitely so much we can say about this verse, but well just go over a little. As you can see from the mount, it's a huge rock. You can also see from the top right picture, that there is a spring gushing out of underneath the rock, coming from the mountain. This is where the Banias River starts, then goes and starts the Jordan, and finaly ends in the Dead Sea. When Jesus says these words, he proclaims Peter as His name, stone or pebble, but then says upon this rock I will build my church. There is many interpretations of what this means, so I would challenge you study the chapter and learn it for yourself. He has given us the greatest teacher, open the word and sit in His class=]. It is very interesting to see though, that this rock would of painted a perfect picture of a huge worldly rock not being able to compare to the bigger stronger rock Jesus was talking about here. The bigger, stronger one that was greater then the gates of hell themselves. Which as well, in that time would of painted a perfect picture of Satan's work. In the cave there in the rock mount, the temple of Pan (goat god, worshiped with immorality and human sacrifices) use to stand. It again would of showed the perfect example of even how no matter what the works of evil do, they won't be able to prevail. He who is in us is greater then he who is in this world.
Saying Send me (Isa.6:8) in word and in action. Doing it untill He's finished (Isa.6:11) & all through Him (Matt.28:18-20)
