Sunday Night continues

The service we have here at Calvary Chapel Daejeon on Sunday nights has been going so good. Daniel has been doing an excellent job leading worship and Mike is rocking teaching through 1 Peter. At first the songs were new and not well known amongst most of the Koreans but now it's beautiful to hear everyone singing and praising the Lord together, then after seeing them be fed and filled by His Word. The service continues to grow and grow, leaving room only for more prayer and seeking Him on what's next=].

its budding time=]

This is a picture of a tree, yes I know that's obvious but it is no ordinary tree. Apparently it is the famous tree in Cheonon representing the city. Alright I don't know all the info about the tree but the thing that was most interesting about it was that John seemed really excited when he saw the buds on it. He said the people know spring is coming when the tree starts to bud, and as you can kind of see, sort of, the trees are budding. It was a big reminder of Matt.24 where it speaks about being able to see the season drawing near when the tree is starting to bloom. So will we be able to know the time is coming when the events are happening...speaking of the return of Christ in the Last days. How we are to be ready as faitfhull servants before the Master's return. Lately speaking to some of the believers, hearing different sermons, and seeing the events around the world we can't help but realize that the signs budding. The times are as those of Noah and like Noah we are found in the grace of the Lord. Given an opportunity to please Him in faith through each day in which He gives us His gift of life, until the day of His return. We have His gift of life, grace that saves us, and gauruntee of His return. The pangs have started...He's coming quickly=] How will you be found?

SAMGORI

Alright so for this Wensday's Adventures with Pastor John we went to a place called Samgori Garden, it's translated into 3 street garden. Pastor John was explaining the history of the garden being the center between the three major cities in South Korea during dynasties and wars. I guess Cheonen was a major link between these three cities and this garden was headquarters. Being able tot walk around the park we were able to see some pretty cool thing; carp fish, pretty lakes, memorials to fallen South Korean soldiers, and some other interesting South Korean culture things. For example the picture on the bottom left is Pastor John on a kune. What's a Kune you might ask, it's a Korean stand up swing. It was pretty sweet and you could get some sweet height on it, but for those of you who have never tried swinging yourself in a stand up position it's hard. You have to crouch and pop back up on every forward and backward swing, plus after you start going vertical on the swing there's potential falling on your bottom. It HURT=], but was fun anyways.

M.E.L.T. at the Night

School is back in session for all the High Schools, Junior Highs, and Universities out here in Korea. They have a longer winter break then we do in the states, and starting last week are now back in school. So with all the students away at lunch time, we had to do some schedule changes for M.E.L.T. So now introducing M.E.L.T. at night. I got my camera out a little late so i didn't get a picture of the whole turn out. Still though even with out the extra pictures you can see we had a good turn out and a great time. The sweetest part is that we had about the same amount of people in the group but a lot of new faces. We're excited to see what else the Lord will do with it. Continue to pray for those He brings in these doors, especially those who come in seeking English, may the Lord bring them to find Him.

Officially Pump

Tuesday afternoon we became official member of the gym here in Daejeon. It's not as easy as you would think to find a good gym around but the Lord took us to the right one. It has swimming classes for those who don't know how and has a sweet set up with the weights. There's also a sweet golf practicing center and a sweet racquetball court. We're really excited and looking forwards to being able to work out together. Thanks again Mike(the one hiding his face) and Hye-Young.=]

Tuesday Morning with Chuck

Okay so today was kind of different, with the schedules lately we haven't really been getting together earlier in the morning. Tuesday though we were able to meet, spend sometime reading the word, and also watch the 2008 bible prophecy update with Chuck Smith. It was a really blessed time, the Lord was speaking and just reminding us to get ready. Afterwards moved by the Spirit, we spent some time in worship praising the Lord and crying out to be continually changed to be found ready for His coming. It was a blessed time, and great reminder of the beauty of our Lord. Lord come quickly-Amen=].

Praise Update and Korean Taquito Spotted=]

For those of you wondering and praying, the Wensday night study is going really good. As we continue on through the book of Genesis the Lord is re-affirming and building up His truth throughout the book into us. The Holy Spirit is definetley speaking, it's so beautiful to be apart of His work here in this little church house Cheonan. Please continue to pray as new things are happening with worship and new people are coming. Also i couldn't resist but the guy in the two smaller pictures is named Isaac. He's a college graduate and now is an intern shephard...intern pastor at this little church with Pastor John. He's a really cool guy but man so mucha bout him reminds me of Tokito, from his shy at first kind of personality to unique laugh. Tokito hope your doing good buddy, God bless ya man. Keep rockin!

UBF going hitting the inside

As mentioned last week Pastor John is apart of an orginization called UBF, again it's a program similiar to campus crusades. This week we went to another University in his church area. It was different, because this week we visited there headquarter club classroom. From there we picked up some packets and hit the campus with the UBF student surveys. Going around having the students answer questions about life and inviting them to come join the program. Going through the campus you really that they are actually really nice inside and out but still need the Lord's filling. Praise the Lord for programs like this reaching the students where they are. Lord bless, fill, and overflow Your Love and Truth to the lost in Jesus name-Amen.

FREE mini gym

Well these videos pretty much explain themselves, but it was kind of funny seeing this mini gym by the lake. Tell you guys though, even though it looks funny, that workout equipment was pretty sweet. Some of the stuff no doubt would be good to even have at home for a personal gym, but check it out for yourselves. Watch and enjoy=].

Day at the Lake

No we didn't get to go to on the lake and fish and there was no swimming allowed, but nevertheless it was still a pretty lake. Before the Wensday night study again, Pastor John led another tour session. We walked around the whole lake on a nice little trail, enjoying the scenery and listening to some history of the Lake stories. Now the water looks kind of shallow which it is, but I was assured that it will get deeper in the summer as the rainy season in spring fills it up. So hopefully we'll see that and maybe fish or take a swim then=].

Night on the Town...Matt. 5:14

Right around the corner, maybe 5-7 minutes of a walk away, we have a Home Plus. Which is pretty much like a Wall-Mart type thing mixed with the Japanese Union Market, and I say Union Market mostly because they have a catchy theme song here too. After Home Plus though, on the walk home, something stuck out. There's one picture I didn't put up because it was pretty much all black anyways, but it was of the opposite side of the big picture in the middle. The picture is of the main road next to our house. As you can see and can assume from the missing picture there's a lot of blacked out street lights. It was like 3 out of 10 lights on one side working. It was a big reminder of how in this nation there is supposedly suppose to be all lights shining. What I mean is that as Christians we're lights of the world, and this nation is suppose to be a Christian nation, but just like the streets show there's many lights that are out. Just like the States and so many other "Christian" countries out there, it comes down to mostly a title. For when we look at the lights a only a few are shining. I know for so many we have a country in mind saying ya it's not only Korea there's a lot of blacked out lights/lives in...(fill it in yourself). But as it was an encouragement to me, PRAY! for that country, and in our lives and the lives we're accountable to, SHINE! Through the power His Holy Spirit let's shine.

Tagging along

As we've mentioned before Hye-Young Pastor Mike's wife is a teacher at the Jinsoo English institute. Today one of the staff members got married, seeing how Mike does most of the driving, we got to tag along. Man, weddings are always such a beautiful thing. It was cool being able to attend and see a Korean wedding. Even though we were there for a short period of time, it was still fun. Since we do so much ministry and have so opportunities to be at the English institute we've come to know a lot of the staff members. It was pretty cool not feeling so out of a place in a stranger's wedding, besides the way we we're dressed it was all sweet.

After Study Brunch

For the Saturday study we first start off together in worship, next we separate for the teachings, and after we get together again at Pastor Mike's house and grub=]. Today we cooked up some mean Mexican style eggs with a Costa Rican touch, and some country fried pataiters. The boys did an excellent job of making it all for everyone, and everyone seemed to have a good time. It was actually really good, don't want to say what was in it, but I can say we're an official Calorie Chapel now. The really fun part was that five minutes into the meal everyone kept thinking that there was something missing. Even though it was preatty much an American meal, here in South Korea, they showed us it's not complete without kimchi.

A NEW CREATION

Today we started yet another bible study here at Calvary Chapel Daejon, Lord is doing great things. If you ever find yourself in the area you should stop by. On Saturday's now we have a more in detail sort of I.B.S. study. Daniel is taking us through the book called "A New Creation" it's a great book on setting the new believer up on a strong biblical foundation and reminding the believer of the basics, which is always a good thing to be freshened up on. Daniel did a great job teaching the guys, our brother John rocked the worship, and from what we heard Hye-young and the other girls had a blessed time as well. Please pray this study as we're very excited to see the guys and gals He brings to become stronger men ans women for His glory.

Samonim=Pastor's wife a.k.a. Hye-Young

For those of you who don't know, Pastor Mike's wife is the second teacher at the Jinsoo Insitute. It was kind of cool because we stumbled into her class tonight and saw them practicing their english listening skills through the TV show friends. The cool part was knowing that even though this class may look a bit small (keep in mind it was at 8:40 pm) the same lecture was being broadcast live to several other campuses. Daniel and I were kind of tempted to up and dance to the intro music of the show, but decided not to embarass the insitute=]. It's really a blessing being able to minister here at the insitute, knowing all the main people and being known by the rest of the staff opens the doors to freely minister to the students. Please pray for the new things He has in store for this institute, as yet again He's starting up a new study on Saturday morning using Daniel and Hye-Young to teach to both the men and woman seperately. Updates on that and pictures will be coming soon to a blog near you.
