Wensday Night Bible Study at Tanguk University

The Wednesday Night Bible Study has been going great. We first started off in the city at Pastor John's church, but since the vision for the bible study is to reach the University student we are now having the bible studies at the nearby University...Tanguk University. It's been a blessing the last two weeks, because had been able to join us and lead us in worship to the Lord. The students continue to grow in worshiping Him in spirit and in truth and continue to grow learning more about His word. It's really been cool seeing God show them that the word is available to them personally for studying and seeking the will of God in their lives. Please continue to pray for the study. Since we are in Genesis we are able to the facts about God's word and the beauty of our creator. With the students they are noticing that a lot of what their taught in school contradicts the bible, but it's been amazing seeing the Holy Spirit just move and answer questions sharing His love and allowing His children to leave with a deeper trust and faith in His word.

Ancient Village, same ol animals

Going around the Folk village, we were able to not only see the old school buildings, but we also got to see some animals here and there around the town. There were ugly shaggy guard dogs here and there(well they were cute in their own way...good thing they weren't barking), some sweet pet zoo animals in a corner cage, and then some demonic elk...reindeer...moose things on the side of the village. In the corner cage though there were bunnies, roosters, and peacocks as well. The peacock was all white but never showed it's feathers, the roosters were a good size but never crowed, the bunnies stayed still and didn't hop, but the moose or whatever demonic beast they were...they attacked and thought they had horns charging the fence thinking they were tough. Man crazy beast but that's another story i almost had to take them out=].

Faiyaer...lol

Driving up to the Folk Village we looked at the hills and from the Highway we could see smoke rising to the sky. We kind of thought wow that would be crazy if we we're going right to the fire since the GPS seemed to be going right to it. Well it ended we dude. The good thing was that the God was blowing away all the smoke from the village and we were able to walk around breathing peacefully. The other cool thing was that the whole time we got to see the South Korean Fire Dept go to work. They brought in firetrucks, work trucks, and helicopters. We we're able to see them fighting the fire the whole time while we were there. Praise the Lord it was something just in the hills and we didn't hear of any injuries. The fire was put out in the 2...2 1/2 hours while we there.

Adventures with Pastor John

Okay so this on adventures with Pastor John he took us to Asan Oeam Maeul(Asan Folk Village). It's a beautiful preserved old school Korean village on the foothills of Cheonon. It was great being able to learn more about the culture and see how the Koreans use to live, cook, and work. The best part though about it was definitely the beauty that the Lord has brought in through spring. The flowers have started to bloom and day by day they continue to just become more and more beautiful. It's amazing. The village is set up perfectly for great pictures. It was a sweet time of trying to practice getting some nice shots and we had a great time messing around up and down the old village stoned walled streets. Hope you enjoy=].

!Free Mondays!

Monday's have now become free days, so this last Monday we rested...=]...but also got some of the guys and gals together to head out to the Cherry Blossom festival at Chunam De Hakyo(the university we live next to). The only down part was that the festival was actually over but it wasn't a problem. We walked around checked out the flowers and then all of a sudden hoping to find some food we turn the corner and mmmmmm there it was. Even though the festival was over the stands were still out. We don't know if there usually there or not, since this is the 3rd largest University in South Korea , but it was still sweet nonetheless. We ended up getting some corn, munching on some flower filling bread, and ONLY starring at their steamed bugs. Afterwards we went to a noraebong and had some fun singing. Everyone had a great time and it's good to be able to see the students enjoying fellowship in Him more and more.

Prep-Time

Well it's just a little over a week now before the team will be coming out to South Korea, and preparations are already being set. God continues to provide, the hotel is already set and doors for ministering are continuing to open. Please pray for the things God wants to do especially in this time that He's bringing so many of His servants to do His work here in South Korea. Pray for the hearts of the people as they are already becoming more and more excited for the group coming out. Lord continue to move in this place Jesus we pray-Amen

Cheoneon History Museum

On the adventures with Pastor John this last week he took us to the history museum in Cheoneon. It's a brand new Museum that's only been open for the last couple months. It has real ancient size Korean statue exhibits, miniature models of life in ancient Cheoneon, animated educational videos completed with full surround sound little amphitheaters, and make your own crafts to take home. It was a really nice museum at a good price=]. Maybe well go back one more time with a group before we leave.

Biblical Preaching at KSOM

At the Korean School of Ministry...KSOM...Mike is teaching a class on how to teach through the bible. It's more of a hands on class where the students study and are taught how to preach in an effective way but also have to preach and be graded themselves. Since the first portion of the class is finished its now project time. This last class Daniel, Cobb, and I were able to teach for the english preaching project side of the class. It was fun and we learned a lot from it. We have a couple more projects due by the end of the semester so we'll keep you posted. Keep us in prayer=].

Birthday Party Crash

A lot of the people that attend CCDaejeon are from the Jinsoo Institute. It works out really good because we spend a good amount of time at the institute in Mike's office. So we get to see familiar faces all the time. As you can see it becomes a sweet benefit sometimes, we we're hanging out at the office and then Daniel found out it was one of the girl's birthday. So we crashed the party they were having in a study room, ate some sweet cake, and then left before they started studying again=]. Thanks again Un-he happy birthday!

Miniature Bowling=]

Bowling in Korea! We had some extra time on our hands the other day when our plans got cancelled so we decided to go bowling. It wasn't really miniature bowling but everything was smaller or at least seem to be. None the less though even with shorter lanes, shorter shooting paths, smaller bowing balls, and some ballet bowling bowlers it was a good time. Daniel and I rocked the miniature pool table on our off turns and then got ice-cream at half time=]. Thanks Mike.

LIbre Luchadores

It's been a big blessing here in South Korea, everything medical has been so cheap. Well cheaper compared to prices in the states it's amazing. Mike and his wife Hye-Young took us to the dentist some time ago to get a check up and a cleaning, since none of us had seen a dentist for at least over a year, Hye-Young said it was time to go. It was actually pretty cool, and not as bad as it was expected to be. It the first time in a long time that a Dentist looked at my mouth and said, "Wow you have nothing wrong, and your mouth is very clean. Come back in another year." It was sweet, God has been blessing me a lot lately with physical successes but ill leave those stories for something else. While we we're at the dentist though we found the masked villains lucha libre boys they call bOOzzz and tIny.

Sunday Night continues

The service we have here at Calvary Chapel Daejeon on Sunday nights has been going so good. Daniel has been doing an excellent job leading worship and Mike is rocking teaching through 1 Peter. At first the songs were new and not well known amongst most of the Koreans but now it's beautiful to hear everyone singing and praising the Lord together, then after seeing them be fed and filled by His Word. The service continues to grow and grow, leaving room only for more prayer and seeking Him on what's next=].

its budding time=]

This is a picture of a tree, yes I know that's obvious but it is no ordinary tree. Apparently it is the famous tree in Cheonon representing the city. Alright I don't know all the info about the tree but the thing that was most interesting about it was that John seemed really excited when he saw the buds on it. He said the people know spring is coming when the tree starts to bud, and as you can kind of see, sort of, the trees are budding. It was a big reminder of Matt.24 where it speaks about being able to see the season drawing near when the tree is starting to bloom. So will we be able to know the time is coming when the events are happening...speaking of the return of Christ in the Last days. How we are to be ready as faitfhull servants before the Master's return. Lately speaking to some of the believers, hearing different sermons, and seeing the events around the world we can't help but realize that the signs budding. The times are as those of Noah and like Noah we are found in the grace of the Lord. Given an opportunity to please Him in faith through each day in which He gives us His gift of life, until the day of His return. We have His gift of life, grace that saves us, and gauruntee of His return. The pangs have started...He's coming quickly=] How will you be found?

SAMGORI

Alright so for this Wensday's Adventures with Pastor John we went to a place called Samgori Garden, it's translated into 3 street garden. Pastor John was explaining the history of the garden being the center between the three major cities in South Korea during dynasties and wars. I guess Cheonen was a major link between these three cities and this garden was headquarters. Being able tot walk around the park we were able to see some pretty cool thing; carp fish, pretty lakes, memorials to fallen South Korean soldiers, and some other interesting South Korean culture things. For example the picture on the bottom left is Pastor John on a kune. What's a Kune you might ask, it's a Korean stand up swing. It was pretty sweet and you could get some sweet height on it, but for those of you who have never tried swinging yourself in a stand up position it's hard. You have to crouch and pop back up on every forward and backward swing, plus after you start going vertical on the swing there's potential falling on your bottom. It HURT=], but was fun anyways.
