Da Sweet Feathers

For six or so months God blessed me with a sweet hairdue, but after the sixth month period it was time to cut it. For those of you wondering all the sweat feather flips were natural, no curlers or perms at all, it was all natural God given beauty=]. The hair came out really sweet, but the time set apart for the hair was finished so the feathers were cut away. I had some fun the last night messing around and making the hair funny but let it fool you, it was sweet all the way. Now the only feathers i have are the ones He gives by waiting on Him and in time soaring like an eagle (Isaiah 40:31)=]. Praise the Lord for who He is and designing a sweet head full of hair.

Fnals

Being in Korea for 6 months God really grew our spiritual family with more and more siblings in Him. One of the greatest experiences was carrying out the Bible's commands in making disciples and serving with orphans. It was such a privilege to hang out and share His love with young and old alike in the different ministries He allowed us to be a part of. In the pictures you'll see some of our final discipleship classes at the local Holy Cross coffee shop and a picture from our final day serving at the orphanage.

Lotte World

About a week or so before Daniel and I left Korea, Pastor Mike and his wife Hye-Young treated us out on a day of fun to Lotte World, the not so local 2 hour with traffic 4 hour drive away(thanks Mike) amusement park. It's a really sweet park that has both indoor and outdoor entertainment. Since we did go in the middle of the summer rainy season we only really got to do the inside part of the park, but it was still a blast. It was a big dome building that was specifically designed to compact all the sweet rides they had to fit inside, really cool to see. They had roller coasters, boat rides, blimp thingamabobers, they had a lot of sweet stuff...we were really blessed. The funniest thing about it was, as you can tell from the pictures, it was pretty much an imitation of Disney. It was funny to see that all the rides had the same basic ideas, the name was very similar to one of the Disney parks, and the logos were almost identical. We had a lot of fun trying to match all the similarities up; it was really a great time. Thank you guys again so much Pastor Mike and Hye-Young!

Sunday School Kids Club

So like we've shared before, Sunday's at CC Daejeon was started the new kids club Sunday School program. I didn't put up any pictures of the service yet, so here are a couple. God really blessed us in the Sunday school program. For the first week we set up the foundation of how the class was to go and made it so that it could run as smooth as possible (at least speaking in an organizational sense). The kids started off few but no doubt God will continue to grow the class as He desires for His glory. The really cool part about was that the kids come for English and get sweet English worship to the Lord though guitar and CD but even better get the straight out word of God taught to them exactly where they are in their comprehension levels. It was really cool in continuing to see the word of God simply taught simply to His little ones so that they might grow to know Him more and more.

Soup and a Movie

For some time now our friends Hugh and Eunhe have been wanting to take Daniel and I out for a special meal. After a long time of our schedules not working out we finally made some time on a Tuesday night before we left. They us out for my favorite Korean Meal Sam-Ke-Tang. It's a whole hen cooked stuffed with rice and served as a ginseng soup. It was really tasty, then afterwards they treated us out for a movie and even some late night snacks on the way home. They gave us the gift of a taking us out for professional pictures and blessed us with a good time fellowship in Him. They are looking forward to moving maybe one day to California in the states so if the Lord desires and we're visiting way day where they are we can return the favor.

Korean Construction

Construction in Korea! Right across the street from us is a house they are now starting to rebuild. Well it's not just a regular home but is a sort of college dormitory like the one we live in as well. The building itself is kind of old, so the owners decided to tear it down and start it all over again from scratch. The total cost is about 300,000 thousand American dollars but including both the demolition and construction it really is a great price. When it's done it will be a beautiful 3 story marble paneled "villa". So cool to see construction at work and remember the construction God continues to do in us, building us up more and more for His glory.

!JESSSEEE!...!SPENCCEEEEEEEEEERRR!

Jessie Spencer is in South Korea! For those of you who don't know Jessie Spencer is the newest long term missionary here at CCDaejeon. He will be serving here as the worship leader and will be assisting Pastor Mike with all the other ministries they will be doing. He has already done a great job of stepping up to the plate. He led worship for four songs on Sunday night at the afterglow service and will continue to take over more of the responsibilities as the time progresses. It really is great having Jessie here, the people are already loving him, and no doubt He'll be a blessing to the body here for the Lord's glory. Sorry for the picture quality they were taken on my phone, God bless you Jessie, continue on in His strength brada!

WELL FED!

Man this last partial weekend was such a blessing. From July 9th to the 11th we had our first ever Calvary Chapel Daejeon church retreat. God blessed us so much in His word, in fellowship as a body, and in worshiping Him through praise and action. We had 6 bible sessions, beautiful times in worship, fun games, and ended the whole thing with a hike and mini devotional. The Lord truly had His wonderful leading hand on us. Sometime before the retreat we saw that the weather for it would be raining with thunderstorms and all, but God held it back. He took away the rain the second day and held it back to give us beautiful skies through the rest of the retreat. The only precipitation that He let happen were some cool down sprinkles on the way down from hiking the mountain, it was perfect. Lord truly showed us more of His beauty this weekend and gave and gave us more of a truth in His word. Hopefully soon we'll have a retreat video and website with a collection of everyone's pictures. In the meantime, if you guys could, pray for the lives He impacted this weekend and that they will continue to be equipped in his word serving Him for His glory. God bless you guys=].

M.E.L.T. and a B-day

Last Tuesday was 'Manda's first M.E.L.T. at night teaching class and lil Hye-young's birthday. 'Manda did a good job explaining hard expressions and sharing a verse with the people. We had a birthday cake with a little celebration time after the class for lil Hye-young and enjoyed time with one another in the Lord sharing English and Christ with the people. Good job 'Manda and happy birthday again lil Hye-Young.

Sunday Update

Sundays now are going great! Now F.Y.I. these piks are a week old but still I wanted to update you gus on the wonderful work God is continuing to do here at CC Daejeon. The top left video is of the first Sunday morning translated service, the top right is the night service that is still continuing to get packed out, and the bottom left is the new 4pm English service which is going great as well. So cool to see with these new times, it's given people the oppurtunity to come for the first time and others to come all day and be fed in His word even more. He continues to grow the church but even more continues to grow His children into men and women fighting for His glory.

Kids Sunday School, CCDaejeon

Tomorrow we start are first full out Sunday Service extravaganza! We will now be doing four different services on Sunday, 3 for the adults and 1 for the kids. This is the first time we will be having any type of real kids ministry program going on here at CC Daejeon. It will be an hour, hour fifteen minute service just for the kids. We're really excited to see what God is going to do here with His little ones in Daejeon. Everything is coming together nicely, the curriculum has been found and the banner has been put up. We haven't made to many fliers but we know He'll bring those He wants. On a side note, the banners and other couple posters were really easy to make. Amanda made the kids design and then Mike printed them out for only 20,000 won($20)! Praise the Lord! He has truly set it all up, please pray that He will continue to do His work here tomorrow and bless His kids here in this city.

Official

Alright well it's official, Daniel and I will now be leaving Korea in exactly 3 weeks, July 24th. We bought our tickets about two days ago at a really great travel agency here in Daejeon. The prices were fair and actually a really good price. We will be flying Air Canada and having a layover in Vancouver. Really we're excited for the things next He has planned but please continue to pray for us in the things HE has for us now. No doubt the time here is coming quickly, but with every second of ministry He provides here, we want to take advantage of it for the complete glory of our Father God. Pray that through His strength we will continue to do so for His Kingdom here in Korea. Thank you guys for your support, Love you guys all=]...to those of you in Cali see you soon.

M.E.L.T.

This last Tuesday was Dean's first teaching at M.E.L.T. He did a good job and everyone seemed to have a fun time. The M.E.L.T. class now again is starting to fill up more and more during the University summer break, so we are looking forward to seeing all the chairs with people studying English, learning about the Lord, and eating Ramyen(Ramen) here on Tuesday nights.

Passing on

Wow for five months God has totally had opened doors for ministry at a kid's club in the city of Asan. God has blessed me with being able to teach and lead the kids in His word through the services week after week. Now though with the new work at CCDaejeon and soon departure date coming it's now time to pass the baton. This last Sunday was my last Sunday there but Dean will now be taking over at Asan for the time being. So...Duke the punisher, initiated Dean in this last Sunday. Hope you enjoy the video=].

A good work

Well after 3 blessed years, Pastor Mike has now officially stopped teaching at Calvary Chapel Cheoneon. This last Sunday the body came together and celebrated the good work God had him be apart of all these years. Pastor Mike is now stopping at Calvary Chapel Cheoneon but is now going to start the new work Sunday mornings here at Calvary Chapel Daejeon. We are very excited for the new things God is doing here at CCDaejeon, please continue to pray for the new work as we continue looking forward in seeing all the blessings God will pour down on His children here in Korea.
